We were very honored to be included as one of the nominees for the 2013 Fraser Valley Commercial building awards. Over 44 amazing projects were nominated this year, from Surrey, Langley, White Rock Abbotsford & Mission. The award criteria required a building or renovation to compliment the surrounding properties and area, be aesthetically pleasing, include unique architectural features, and answer a specific development need within the community.
Our LEED Platinum Beachaus 1 & 2 project in White Rock BC received the Award of Excellence in the Multi-Family category. The project involved rezoning & reorienting two small lots, allowing us to construct two fully “daylit”, ultra-efficient smart homes. The homes were very unique and the project serves as a great example for sustainable infill development in the White Rock area. The project will also be featured in an upcoming issue of the Fraser Valley Business Examiner.
As a total surprise, InHaus Development was also awarded the 2013 Fortis BC Green Building Award for excellence in sustainable development & construction. We are proud to be recognized for the extra work which we put into each sustainable project that we work on, and very happy that awareness of green building practices is rapidly improving year after year throughout the Fraser Valley, and the Pacific Northwest.

Now that’s a great sign. After a few months on the market and a number of interested parties we are pleased to announce that Beachaus II has now been sold. Please note that there will not be any further open houses at this property.
Congrats to the new owner of Beachaus II, welcome to the InHaus family! We hope you enjoy your brand new LEED Platinum home.
Walkscore recently ranked all of the major Canadian cities for their walkability, and Vancouver came out #1. Check out this link for an interesting interactive “heat map” showing walkable corridors throughout the lower mainland.
Did you know that the average resident of a walkable neighborhood weighs 6-10 pounds less than someone who lives in a sprawling neighborhood? Cities with good public transit and access to amenities promote happiness. Over 82% of CO2 emissions are from burning fossil fuels, your feet are zero-pollution transportation machines.
Research also shows that a single point of Walk Score can be worth up to $3,000 of increased value for your property. Read the research report here.
White Rock’s very own Peace Arch news was kind enough to write a feature on the Beachaus project in today’s edition of the Peace Arch News. You can pick up a copy for yourself (see page 10) or read the article online here.
We will have Beachaus II open for viewing this Sunday from 1-4pm, feel free to come by and take a peek! The address of the home is 15619 Columbia Avenue, White Rock BC (map).

It’s now official! We are very proud to announce that the CAGBC (Canadian Green Building Council) has officially awarded Beachaus I and Beachaus II their LEED PLATINUM status in recognition of their achievement in environmental building and design.
Only 3 homes in the lower mainland, and 7 in Western Canada have achieved PLATINUM status to date, and the team at InHaus is extremely proud to be part of such a distinctive group.
